How to book an appointment

Over the phone, online, or in person. All you need to know to book an appointment at the Hospital.

Outpatient Specialist appointments and diagnostic exams can be provided in one of the four locations of the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome – Gianicolo, Rome – San Paolo, Palidoro, and Santa Marinella. Appointments can be booked in different ways.

Before starting, make sure you have:
- medical prescription of the National Health System
- patient's fiscal number

Booking over the phone

Call the central reservation line (CUP) of the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital at number +39.06.68181.

The telephone line is attended with the following timetable:
- From Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm
- On Saturday from 08.00am to 12.45pm.

The same timetable is valid for booking privately paid (intramoenia) outpatient Specialist appointments and diagnostic exams, at the dedicated phone number +39.06.6859.3996.
In case of prolonged waiting time on the phone, the system will give the possibility to be called back at a given telephone number. The recall service is active from Monday to Friday.

Once completed the reservation you will be given your reservation number.

Online booking

The online booking service gives you direct access to the appointment book of individual medical and diagnostic services, in order to let you choose - based on availability - the date and location of your appointment.
In case of privately paid services (intramoenia), you can also choose the specialist and see the cost of the requested service before booking the appointment.
Only NON URGENT SERVICES can be booked online.
For services considered as urgent, please call the central reservation line (CUP) at n. +39.06.68.18.1. Prescribing physicians should specify in the prescription that the requested medical or diagnostic service is urgent. In case of reservation of multiple services, (e.g. cardiologist appointment + diagnostic exam), reservation by phone is recommended.

Once completed the reservation you may print out the note with your reservation number and your ID code.

Assisted booking

The procedure of assisted booking allows you to book – after filling-in a form with few information – the first available appointment in one of the four premises of the Hospital: Rome – Gianicolo; Rome –S. Paolo; Palidoro; S. Marinella.

You will receive an e-mail informing you on the day and location of the first available slot. Alternatively, you can choose to be called by an operator and decide on the date and location, which are more convenient for you.
This procedure is applicable to services provided within the National Health System, as well as to privately paid services.

The form to be filled-in in order to book an appointment includes the following information:
- the child's personal data
- fiscal number
- code and date of the prescription of the National Health System
- requested service
- e-mail address or phone number to be contacted
- type of hospital setting for the service you are booking

The ID code issued after completing the reservation must be kept and presented on the day of the appointment at the check-in counter. In case you lose it, it will be enough to give your child's personal data (name, surname and date of birth.

Booking at the administration counters

You can book your outpatient visits or diagnostic investigations also in person at the administration counters in all the Hospital premises

Counters' opening hours are:

Rome Gianicolo:
from Monday to Saturday, from 7.00am to 6.45pm
on Sunday from 7.00am  to 6.45pm

Rome San Paolo:
from Monday to Friday, from 7.00am to 6.45pm
on Saturday from 7.00am to 12.45pm

Santa Marinella:  
from Monday to Friday, from 7.00am to 2.30pm

Palidoro:
from Monday to Friday, from 7.00am to 6.45pm
on Saturday from 7.00am to 12.45pm

Once completed the reservation you will be given a note with your reservation number.
