On the day of the medical appointment

The check-in at the registration desk, the medical prescription, the payment of the medical ticket: all you need to know on the administrative procedure.

Once in the Hospital and before the appointment you will have to show up at the registration desk and deal with the administrative procedure for registration.
It is therefore recommended to arrive at the hospital half an hour before the appointment. In case of diagnostic tests or appointments for which reservation is not needed, it is recommended to arrive at the hospital early at opening times for blood tests, and at least one hour before closing for pediatrician appointments. 

Opening hours of the administration counters are the following:

Rome - Gianicolo:
from Monday to Saturday from 7.00am to 6.45pm
on Sunday from 7.00am to 6.45pm

Rome - San Paolo:
from Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 6.45pm
on Saturday from 7.00am to 12.45pm

Santa Marinella:  
from Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 2.30pm

from Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 6.45pm
on Saturday from 7.00am to 12.45pm

For pregnant women and disabled persons there is a priority lane both for handling the administrative procedure, and for access to medical appointments or diagnostic tests.

Ticket and medical prescription

The documents to be submitted upon registration are the following:
- the patient's healthcare card.
- the medical prescription from the book of prescriptions of the regional healthcare service. This allows to pay only for the TICKET (i.e. a share of the full rate).

The medical prescription should be filled-in in all required entry fields by the family pediatrician in a clear and legible way. Please be reminded that medical prescriptions have a validity of one year from the date of issue, and cannot be used after that date.
In case of medical appointments for which a prescription is not needed (pediatrician, dentist or gynecologist. For the last two a reservation is necessary) the full cost of the visit should be paid, based on rates established by the National Health System.

Exemption from payment of the "ticket"

Persons who avail themselves of this exemption must provide the exemption card (tesserino di esenzione) issued by the local Helathcare Agency (Agenzia Sanitaria Locale – ASL). Moreover, the family pediatrician must correctly indicate the exemption code in the prescription.

Modality of payment

Specialist appointments and diagnostic investigations can be paid from the moment of reservation until the day of the appointment. 
Payment can be made:
- online, with a credit card – in full safety – only if the reservation has been made online. On the day of the appointment, upon registration, you will have to submit the payment receipt.
- in person at the administration counters in all the premises of the Hospital. Payment can be made cash, with ATM card, with credit card or with a cheque.
